Kangra, a beautiful and welcome city in HP, in Kangra district, is known for its lush green valley, and spiritual retreat. It is called as land of gods or DEVBHUMI in Hindu sacred literature. It was once called as “ Nagarkot” and famous tourist destinations are Kangra fort, Brajeswari Temple, Kareri Lake, and Brajeshwari temple. 

Kangra Fort is the oldest and longest fort in the Himalayas. Dharamshala has its connection with this valley. It has the famous Dharamshala cricket ground. It has tranquil view of hilltop. The Dalai-lama Exile home in Himalayas. The famous temples are Baijnath, Chamunda Devi, Jwala devi, and many more. 

If you are fond of local food then few popular dishes are Bhruni, Kalan ke pakora, and seera.

Chamba Valley

It is situated along the river Ravi in the Chamba District of Himachal. It is surrounded by beautiful scenic beauty of lush green trees and flora. It is covered with famous Shivalik range. There are lots of fairs, festivals, with utmost flair and enthusiasm. The famous suhi mata mela is a famous mela in handicrafts are delegated like shawls, hand embroidered caps, footwear and many other local artisans are involved in this feast. 

Other tourist attractions are as follows:

Chamera Lake: It has tranquillity of Dharuhera trees, and coniferous trees. during the monsoon the water looks green and is very pleasing to the eyes.

Mani Mahesh Lake: It is around 4800 feet above sea level. It gives a picturesque view of the valley. It is so mesmerising that visitors enjoy a winter holiday there.

The Lakshmi – Narayan Temple: It is the oldest and largest temple in the valley. It has 6 idols of Lord Shiva and Vishnu. It is built in the unique shape of Shikara. It has cool and peaceful atmosphere, and remains very soothing inside, no matter what the temperature is outside.

Rang Mahal: This place is converted into a handicraft hub. Raja Umed singh palace is a paradise for everything handmade. Exquisite variety of embroidered shawls, woollen looms, and handkerchief are a must buy stuff. Hand made pickles are also available.

Spiti Valley: It is called as “cold desert” of Himachal, surrounded by eponymous river. It is at an altitude of 3000-46000 metres. Spiti is a part of the LAHAUL and SPITI district. The one highway of KAZA goes to Ladakh. 

Famous attraction in valley are:

Kaza: It is the Head-quarter of SPITI valley. It is a growing town with variety of homestays, hotels, restaurants, and backpackers’ options are available for tourists. But the WIFI is not so strong in these places. 

Tabo: It is widely known that as the Ajanta of Himalayas. It is because of the murals seen inside the monastery. The TABO was built in 996 CE. The paintings depict scenes from Buddha’s life and other events from Mahayana traditions and the number of details and finesse in these artworks by the unknown artisans is comparable to the best in the world. Tabo is around 50 Kms from Kaza and if you are entering through the Shimla route, you will reach Tabo before Kaza. There are many homestay in Tabo but, if possible, try to stay in the monastery guesthouse for a spiritual experience. 

Pin Parvati Valley: It borders the Parvati valley in Kullu. The famous Parvati Pass trek these two regions. The Sparsely populated place has been declared as a national park. It is specifically a national park and is a spotted place of wildlife is also very high range of elusive snow leopard.

Kullu Valley: It is called as valley of Gods. It has the famous hill station of India –“Manali”. Kullu one of the 12 districts of India, situated approximately 1200 ft above sea level. It is surrounded by lush green mountains, deodar trees, lush green valleys, and Beas, and Parvati River.

Things to do in Kullu- Paragliding & River rafting. 

Shopping: The famous Kullu shawls, caps, and socks. You can buy all these stuffs and can get a feel of Kullu as a whole.
